AP HUMAN GEOGRAPHY

Students who take AP Human Geography will be challenged on a daily basis.  The curriculum is equivalent to an introductory college- level course in human geography or cultural geography.  The class will review many concepts and analyze the interaction of humans with their environment.  The following topics will be researched, analyzed, interpreted, debated, and ultimately assessed:​
  • Economic development and cultural change
  • Changes in population growth
  • Technological innovation on transportation, communication, industrialization, and other aspects of human life
  • Struggles over political power and control of territory
  • Conflicts over sexism, limited minority participation, and inequalities between developed and undeveloped nations
  • The value of location in relation to agriculture, industry, and urban development
  • The consequences of  abusing the environment in shaping human landscapes
