Describe your perspective of the content as it stands now.

While watching the video I couldn't help but ask myself why? Why are the politicians not doing anything about gun control? How many more school shootings need to happen and how many more lives must be lost for the politicians to actually do something and try to fix it. Also, I don't understand how Senator Marco Rubio can say the things he said with confidence. I believe that most of the laws that the office makes work and that making more laws that are needed will help our country become a safer place. I understand that some people need guns or want guns but not for the purpose of killing. I believe that if someone has a child or knows a child that might do something or they have said something about it then the person holding the gun shouldn't be allowed to posses it until the matter has been cleared. Also parents should stop treating there children like they are better then everyone else because that could be one of the major causes for teenagers to take this kind of action. The teenagers who believe they are better then everyone else think that they can do this because they won't get in trouble because they have those thoughts. Parents should also teach their kids or teens about how every action has a consequence.

I think if something were to happen like this again that it should be a big red flag to the senators that the laws in place now are not doing anything or are not doing enough to stop the dangers that are constantly occurring. I would also like then parents to understand that their kids are capable of doing things like this and that the parents should talk to their kids about it. Even the parents who don't think that their child could do something so evil should talk to their kids about it to get an understanding from someone inside the school environment. I would also like to see more support for the children protesting to have gun laws in place and to encourage them to speak out about it. If the children have the courage to speak out then word would get around faster and changes can happen faster.

Describe your perspective as it stands now

My perspective is that if the politicians, who are supposed to be helpping this country become better, are partially messing around and not trying to help stop events like school shootings from happening again. As the video went on I realised that our law makers aren't focusing on the present and future as much as they are looking to the past and saying that even if a law is passed the shootings will still happen.

How you want to see things addressed in the future?

For the future, the senators should realize we need change when the current laws aren't helping and there are teens actively marching and protesting those senators to change the laws to make their learning environment safer. Though maybe reinstating previously used laws may not help, like what the students wanted to do in Florida, creating new ones to improve the regulations on fire arms and the ones available to the public would be beneficial to people's protecting, in or out of school.

Descibe your perspective as it is now.

My perspective is skewed, the issue of gun laws has been debated for years and only recently have I began to question my views. I have been raised by two parents who both own guns. With my fathers military past and current career I have grown up with guns by my side. But, with recent events my perspective has shifted, on one hand I understand a persons connection to their gun and how it can offer ease at mind , but at the end of the day I think its completely selfish to state that someone would choose their gun over the safety of children or anyone, guns are materialistic I personally don't think their more valuable than the lives of people.

How do you want to see things addressed in the future?

I think everyone needs to stop saying that their going to take away all guns, because that's just not the case. I think that stricter gun laws are absolutely necessary. I also think it needs to publicized that guns are just things, they are worth more than a human life, at the same time it needs to be clear that the play is not take away everyone's gun, because it seems that its not clear. I do not want the same process to happen now as it did before, mourn, try to enact change, get rejected, move on. This issue has gone on for too long something, anything needs to be tried. Lastly I think the option of school guards should be discussed more by schools because I believe it offers more security in schools. and there are many people who would be willing to fill the position.

Describe your perspective as it is now:
When watching this video, my outstanding questions were why is all the answers to the girls questions "he shouldn't have gotten his hands on any kind of weapon", or "he should have been barred", "he should not have been able to", etc... why are all the answers in the context of "should not"? I believe that that is our biggest issues. We say all these thing of what it shouldn't be and what needs to happen, but I don't see any action being taken to address these problems. This is not going away, and until something big is done about it, these shootings are not going to stop. How many lives are going to be taken before the United States says its enough? Why is there even a question when it comes to banning ASSAULT RIFLES from any citizen? Assault weapons should only be available to law enforcement officers and military. Citizens have no reason to be in possession of that type of weapon. It's sad to me that its come to the teenagers themselves, having to speak out as victims themselves, to make an impression and start this change.

How do you want to see things addressed in the future?
Personally, I want to see things taken seriously. We are having all these debates and discussions, but like i said before, its all talk and no action. People need to stop thinking about themselves and look at the bigger picture. People take advantage of the fact that these weapons are legal to obtain, and they use them to their desire, which in some cases, are sick, like the Florida shooting and many other past shootings up to this point. Politicians need to realize that these teenagers are not going to back down, and if they don't let something happen, then the teens will do something themselves.

Describe your perspective as it is now:
I agree with pretty much everything Barack Obama has to say back to the gun owner. I am completely against getting rid of guns or taking them out of gun owners possession like Obama is saying he, Hillary, and other democrats are not doing. I see a problem in people on both sides of the argument and i feel as if i fall in between these two sides. I do not thinks guns will ever be fully taken away, nor do i want them to be fully taken away from responsible gun owners. However i believe there is a problem with these gun owners and how they get their guns. I think it is important for a person to be older to first be able to get a gun, because just like alcohol it is very dangerous and is easier to control as your brain develops. I believe for one that someone must be at least 21 years of age to be able to purchase and use a firearm for hunting or sport purposes. I see no need for weapons like the AR-15 or other automatic/semiautomatic weapons, because they are weapons designed to kill people. I also personally believe that you can defend yourself with a hunting rifle just as easily as you can with something like a handgun which is made to kill humans not animals. I think it is important to have background checks but many people see this as someone trying to take their guns away, but instead it is just making a little harder to obtain one. This is important because it may keep people who are mentally ill or criminals from being able to buy these guns, further insuring safety.

How do you want to see things addressed in the future?
Firstly, I would love to see the legal age to buy and own/carry a firearm change to 21. This way children or teens will have a less likely chance of obtaining and or using these weapons. I also hope that we will see a president that supports having to get a permit and also that is against bump stocks. There is no need for bump stocks when it comes to protecting yourself, hunting or sport and I hope that we will continue to see their use and quantity diminish. I want the next president of the United States to be as open minded as he or she can be about this topic. I want a president that supports the peoples rights to own these guns, but also help keep guns out of the hands of the mentally ill or criminally insane, as well as keeping weapons for war on the battle field, and not in the hands of a civilian.
