1) Did you prefer the freedom of the project, or did you feel there needed to be more structure? Provide a detailed response.
I preferred the freedom of the project because I felt that I was really able to get to know better my campaign team and because we got along well, our Lincoln campaign was a success. I liked how we were granted independence on how to use our funds for advertising and how we were able to get the word out about our candidate in any way we wanted. I feel that this project really helped us understand the amount of work it takes for run a campaign and the freedom of it made us deal with setbacks and accomplishments more effectively.

2) What led to your group's success or failure on the debate and election?
What lead to our group's success was how well we collaborated together and how efficiently we split up tasks in our group. Throughout the work weeks, I felt that my group was always on task and were always sharing ideas for new ways to obtain funding, ways to advertise, and accurate information to present in the debate. I enjoyed immensely working with the people that I did and, from this, I felt that we were able to have fun and, also, benefit from our hard work in the end.

3) Which election option is better in your opinion, historical presidents or current candidates? Explain why.
I feel that historical presidents is better for an election. While running the campaign for Lincoln, I found it interesting and engaging to research what his own priorities and values were. From researching his values and ideals, we were able to use deeper thinking and comprehension to think about what Lincoln would do in a current situation that affects society today. While it's simple to ask a current candidate what his views on what is happening currently, it was challenging to relate a past figure with current issues. I enjoyed the challenge and I felt that it made me have a more deeper and clear understanding of my candidate.

1) I preferred the freedom of the project because it gave our group a way to multitask to finish tasks. We had different people working on different categories. This led to our group being diverse because we were not doing the exact same thing each day. The freedom of the project made it very fun and made it a challenge when deciding who would do each of the tasks.
2) During this project our group was always on task and we were hard working. This lead to the success of winning the debate. We also, made many posters and were able to do radio announcements the day of the election. I think that doing the announcements the day of the election kept Lincoln fresh in the minds of the voters.
3) I think that a historical election is better because our class got the opportunity to really research a specific president and learn about how they ran our country in the past. We also, got to see how they handled different problems during a different time period. It was very interesting to see the different presidents' views on diverse problems and how they would handle catastrophes today.

Terrific reflection, Emily. Your group was fantastic throughout the activity and I am very appreciative of your efforts. I agree that the last minute radio spots were effective!

1. I feel that there needed to be more structure and stict gudelnes because i feel that the project would've gone a lot better for my group and all groups. It is easier to have a guideline to follow and much faster.
2. I think what mainly led to my groups failure was the fundraising part, we did not get very much money at all. Also I think part of it was because we got Jefferson which is a harder president to do, due to the history. Many people did not want to vote for this reason.
3. I feel that the more current candidates would be a better option. It would be an easier time to make a campaign for current candidates because they do not really have a name for them selves yet. This way, people want to listen to what the candidates have to offer versus what historical presidents already have done.

1)I preferred the freedom of the project because it was nice to go out and talk to teachers to raise money.I feel making it more structured would of made it more boring for the participants
2)not researching enough about our candidate to explain to teachers on why our president was the best candidate
3)I would say more current presidents so we could use more relevant ideas that they have and not ones that had ideas that were more relevant back then
