Hello Everyone,
My name is Mr. Augustine, and I teach Social Studies at North Boone High School. I will do my best to relay the materials in an effective manner, and be a patient guide during the learning process. All materials on this website are designed to reinforce concepts we review directly in class. Please contact me by email if you have any questions or concerns relating to the course. All assignments are uploaded to Google Classroom, but this site is also useful for reviewing course content. I look forward to having another fun and engaging year in the classroom.
Sincerely,
Mr. Augustine
PATH
We act as guides during the learning process, and ask students to follow a successful PATH toward education. What does that mean? Well, I broke it down to four key areas. Our entire class should strive to be Productive, Accountable, Timely, and Honorable each day we enter the classroom. l will get into the details of this process during our classroom introductions, but we will use PATH each day to enhance the learning environment as well as the students' learning experience.

CIVICS
Civics is a class designed to familiarize students with the origins, concepts, organizations, and policies of our government. Citizen rights and duties will be assessed. Students will be involved in collaborative and competitive interactive simulations relating to the legislative, executive, and judicial branches throughout the course. The Constitution exam is a graduation requirement, and a final is administered at the end of the semester.
AP Human Geography
AP Human Geography introduces students to the study of processes that include geography, population demographics, mobility trends, religions, cultural influences, agriculture, globalization, and city development . Students will be introduced to maps, spatial data, and key terms. The class will assess associations among phenomena around the world and analyze relationships among these patterns and processes. Students will have many opportunities to establish their viewpoints with solid data and informative class conversations.
Psychology
Psychology explores the ideas, theories, and methods of the scientific study of behavior and mental processes. You’ll examine the concepts of psychology through reading and discussion and you’ll analyze data from psychological research studies. We review major domains of scientific psychology including biological foundations, sensations, perception, learning, motivation, human development and abnormal psychology. Specifically, we discuss research conducted in the different subfields of psychology and critically evaluate both the methodologies and results.
